Timothy Hunter – (Professor of Lighting and Stage Design)
Mr. Hunter’s appointment as Professor of Lighting and
Stage Design commenced Fall 2007. He comes to UConn directly
from New York City where he has been designing professionally
for the last 25 years. His areas of expertise are in lighting
design, scenic design, projection design and new media design.
He holds a BGS from the University of Michigan, an MFA from
the Yale School of Drama and has been a member of United Scenic
Artists Local 829 since 1982.
Mr. Hunter’s theatrical design credits include: Broadway,
Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Off-Broadway.
Regional Theatres include: Paper Mill Playhouse, Walnut Street
Theatre, Burt Reynolds Theatre, Capital Repertory Theatre,
Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Doolittle Theatre, Goodspeed
Opera House, McCarter Theatre, MUNY Opera Theatre - St. Louis,
New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, North Shore Music Theatre,
Royal George Theatre - Chicago, Starlight Theatre - Kansas
City, Syracuse Stage, Victoria Theatre - Dayton and Yale Repertory
Theatre.
