NICOLE PHANEUF: (Lecturer of Dance, Movement) Nicole Phaneuf, BA University of Connecticut, MA New York University. Ms. Phaneuf started choreographing at a young age and has made her mark at NYU, UCONN, The Academy of Dramatic Arts, Act II Theatre and across the United States and Europe since 1990. She still remains a freelance choreographer. Ms. Phaneuf studied dance, acting and movement for the actor mostly in New York City where she was a student at various institutions including The Academy of Dramatic Arts, Broadway Dance Center and NYU. Ms. Phaneuf has studied the Graham and Hawkins Modern Technique, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, and several Ballroom techniques. Her teaching experience includes NYU, UCONN, Franklin Academy, Hale-Ray High School, Alyson’s School of Dance, United Rhythms Dance Studio, and Caroline’s Dance Center. She is the founder and owner of the ph Dance Project located in East Haddam CT. Her company consists of about 40 children and adults. Ms. Phaneuf’s philosophy of movement lies within each mover and student of hers. She wholeheartedly believes all can dance- trained, untrained- and all can move with grace. She also believes creativity can be nurtured and enhanced with a safe environment which leads to a process of knowing oneself further. Ms. Phaneuf also has been trained in meditation and is a Reiki Master.
