JAMES F. FRANKLIN (Director of the Lighting Design Program and Professor of Dramatic Arts in Lighting Design): BA Holy Cross College; MA Cornell University; MFA Brandeis University. Faculty Member at the University of Texas at Austin and at Santa Clara University. Scenic/Lighting Designer for the Connecticut Opera Association, The Hartford Ballet, The Albano Ballet, Rites and Reason Theatre, Westport Country Playhouse, The Barter Theatre, The Alley Theatre, The Charlotte Opera Association, Opera/Omaha, Austin Lyric Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Eastern Opera Theatre of New York, The Bronx Opera, Hartford Opera Theatre, The Merrimack Repertory Theatre, Chiswick Park Theatre, The Clarence Brown Theatre and Theatre on the Square in San Francisco. Fulbright-Hays Design Research Fellowship Recipient (Italy, 1981). Member United Scenic Artists Local #829. Department of Dramatic Arts Faculty Appointment, 1981.
