DANA SUE McDERMOTT (Associate Professor of Dramatic Arts in Theatre History, Dramatic Literature and Playwrighting): Ph.D. University of California at Berkeley. Dr. McDermott's research interests focus on 20th Century American Theatre, Creativity in the Theatre, and Women in Theatre. She has presented papers at conferences of the American Society for Theatre Research, the Association of Theatre for Higher Education, Themes in Drama (both in England and Southern California), and Jungian Symposium on Creativity, and has chaired a national conference on Women in Theatre. Dr. McDermott has published in THEATRE JOURNAL, TEHATER SURVEY, THEMES IN DRAMA and DUTCH QUARTERLY REVIEW. Dr. McDermott has had scripts produced at the University of Connecticut, University of California at Riverside, and has staged readings of plays in New York City, at the Yale Drama School, and at the University of Arkansas. She has written extensively on the scenographer Robert Edmond Jones. Dr. McDermott also has considerable production experience in directing and script development. She is currently involved in professional development of her script OUT OF THE RUINS.
