Departmental Interview: Those applying
for the Design/Tech BFA program must also be interviewed by
the faculty. Although a formal portfolio review is not officially
required, we strongly encourage you to bring any sketches,
drawings, renderings, plans, photos, theatre designs or art
class work you may have done in the past to be to be viewed
by members of the faculty during the interview process. To
schedule an admissions interview with members of the Design/Tech
faculty, please contact the Interim Associate Head for Design

michael.anania@uconn.edu.
Interview times will be scheduled between 1:00 PM and 4:00
PM on a Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Friday between 11:00
AM and 4:00 PM. We encourage you to schedule your interview
early as we have many applicants for limited class positions.
What If? If you are admitted to the University
of Connecticut but NOT invited to join the BFA Program after
your portfolio review, you may still apply and be interviewed
for admission to the Bachelor of Arts Program in Theatre
Studies. The BA in Theatre Studies is a general, academic
degree in Theatre. Please understand, however, that as a Theatre
Studies student you will not have access to all of the advanced
design and technical courses. For more information on the
BA in Theatre Studies, click here.
